Context & Problem
High Fragmented Demand: 64% of U.S. sports-gaming users own crypto, yet the average gamer must juggle ~3 different apps to track their multi-asset balances (Paysafe / iGB).
The Industry Trap: Many sports-gaming platforms are built to encourage compulsive spending, ignoring the player demand for responsible safety controls to avoid "loss-chasing" (AGA).
The Challenge: How do I design a unified multi-asset wallet that maintains speed while introducing responsible guardrails that protect the user?

My Goal
To prove that good design doesn't have to be entirely frictionless. I wanted to introduce "good friction" into the product to slow users down when it matters most, shifting the focus from quick spending to long-term wealth management.
Solution
Unified Dashboard
A single, clean screen aggregating multiple app balances and crypto assets, saving users time without forcing them to app-hop.

Radical Transparency and Streamlined Flows
Clear UX copy and straightforward labels on buttons and cards so users always know exactly where their money is moving.

Intentional Friction Points
Micro-moments, like well-timed modals or clear inline warning text, that force a mindful pause before a user makes an impulsive, high-risk deposit.

Proactive Responsible Gaming Controls
Built-in settings allowing users to easily set their own limits and cool-down periods.

Takeaways
Friction Can Be Good UX: "Frictionless" shouldn't be the default goal for every product. When a user's financial health is on the line, slowing them down is the empathetic thing to do.
Designing for the Edge Cases: Designing ethically in a space notorious for dark patterns matters. Building guardrails for the most vulnerable users ultimately creates a safer, more transparent tool for everyone.
The Business Case for Ethics: Ethical design isn't just a moral choice; it's a smart business strategy. Preventing user burnout and financial distress builds long-term user retention, which is far more profitable for a company than constant user churn.
